Eurosport’s coverage of the London 2012 Olympics drew an audience of 106 million, the Paris-based broadcaster has said.
During the Olympics, Eurosport increased its average TV audience by 80%, at the same time increasing the usage of its website and mobile applications.
The most watched programmes were the three Athletics nights on August 5, 8 and 9, which each drew over 13 million viewers each.
Eurosport’s global average audience during the Games (09:00 – 01:00 CET) was up 80% compared to its yearly audience.
Online Eurosport.com* attracted nearly 5.6 million daily visitors during London 2012, 4.4m on the web and 1.2m on mobile, 36% higher than its yearly average daily global audience (4.1m).
With 6.5m million users on August 3, Eurosport.com achieved its best ever digital performance, while the English and Spanish markets broke their individual historical records on the web during the Games.
