The Czech Telecom Office (CTU) has published an updated D-Book that it says is needed to ensure the smooth reception of digital terrestrial TV services in the country in both the DVB-T and the new DVB-T2 standards.
Commenting on the move, the Office’s chairman of the council Pavel Dvorak said: “The D-Book is an essential tool for manufacturers and sellers of digital televisions and set-top boxes. Respect for the parameters it sets will assure television viewers that the receivers they purchase will correctly receive digital broadcasting in the Czech Republic.”
He added: “The D-Book also represents a necessary step towards the future development of digital terrestrial television broadcasting in DVB-T2. This allows for the improvement of the quality of TV broadcasting and more efficient use of frequencies in the future.”
The D-Book is advisory and was prepared by the technical group at the CTU.
