Deutsche Welle has signed a new partnership with the iPad news app Watchup to offer DW video content to iPad users in the US.
DW and Watchup have announced that they are partnering to offer in-depth, video coverage and analysis of German and international affairs to the emerging iPad user audience in the US.
Users will be able to watch the ten latest news clips produced by DW on its English channel with Watchup’s iPad app. The iPad-only video platform also includes news channels such as The Wall Street Journal, PBS Newshour and many others.
Watchup is a new iPad app that lets you discover what’s up in the world through a curated lineup of high-quality news channels. With its next-generation tap-and-play interface, Watchup lets you create your video playlist in a snap while you grab breakfast or prepare dinner.
Launched in late June 2012, Watchup has been incubated at StartX, the Stanford startup accelerator, is a winner of the 2012 Knight News Challenge, a finalist at the MobileBeat Mobile Innovation competition and has been featured in the iPad AppStore.
