The Polish on demand service TVN Player is expected to break even by the end of the year, according to Piotr Walter, the vice president of its operator TVN.
Quoted in Wirtualne Media following the publication of the latter’s latest set of results, he nevertheless refused to say how much revenue the service, launched less than a year ago and claiming over a million users each month, is now generating.
Markus Tellenbach, the president of TVN, meanwhile said that the company has no plans to take part in a tender for frequencies that will be freed up on Poland’s first DTT multiplex once the public broadcaster TVP moves its main channels to the third multiplex.
Instead, TVN will focus its attention on the new DTT channel TTV, in which it has a 50.55% stake.
Separately, Tellenbach also said he expects the DTH platform n to have 1 million subscribers by this October.
