SBS Broadcasting Media has become the first audiovisual company in Romania to invest in digital broadcasting technology.
According to Media Expres, it has launched a portfolio of the radio stations it currently operates – Kiss FM, Magic FM, Rock FM and One FM – through a digital terrestrial network in the capital, Bucharest, employing HD Radio technology.
HD Radio is a standard of iBiquity Digital Corporation and the equipment for transmitting services has been acquired by SBS Broadcasting Media from Nautel.
SBS Broadcasting Media is part of ProSiebenSat.1 and includes the television stations Prima TV and Kiss TV among its interests in Romania.
