Eredivisie Live exclusive for Samsung

August 10, 2012 11.14 Europe/London By Jarco Kriek

The Dutch premier league has introduced a new app for its Eredivisie Live TV service in time for the start of the new football season.

The app will be made available exclusively on Samsung Smart TV, Smart Blu-ray players and Smart Home Entertainment System. Samsung phones released in 2011 and 2012 that have an internet connection will also be capable of using the app that includes forthcoming fixtures, match summaries and league tables.

Arno de Jong, director, media & marketing, Eredivisie Live said: “After the introduction of the Eredivisie Live mobile app for Android and iPhone devices the availability of our app on Samsung’s Smart TV is a new step in the development of our multimedia strategy.”

Rick Fens, content manager, Samsung Electronics, added: “With the exclusive launch of Eredivisie Live, we’re again expanding the availability of relevant local brands.”

Earlier this summer Samsung introduced a sports app from public broadcaster NOS, and with increasing the popularity of videos on the Samsung platform. Steffens said the Eredivisie Live app was a logical step.

The price for a single match from the Eredivisie is €6.95 per match.

As an extra service, it is also possible to watch highlights from each round from the following Monday.
