Magyar Telekom continues to enjoy success with its IPTV operations, both in Hungary and the two other CEE markets – Macedonia and Montenegro – they are present in.
As of the end of Q2, the Hungarian platform had 276,344 subscribers, or 68.7% more than a year earlier.
This made it almost as popular as the DTH service, which saw its take up grow by 9.1% over the year to 286,374 subscribers.
The telco’s cable TV operation, on the other, continued to lose customers to IPTV, the 259,483 it had as of the end of June being 21.5% less than a year earlier.
In Macedonia, the number of IPTV customers rose by 50.4% in the year to 50,831, while in Montenegro the total was up by a more modest 16.7% to 50,388.
Magyar Telekom posted total revenues of HUF145,462 million (€524.2 million) in the second quarter (+1.3 y-o-y), while its operating profit was HUF23,497 million (+14.4%y-o-y).
