Liberty Global’s UPC has entered into a strategic partnership with CME in Romania.
Under it, the country’s second largest cable operator is now offering its subscribers CME’s Voyo online on demand service. Voyo.ro can be received for RON17 (€3.7) a month and currently consists of over 500 box office titles, with the number set to rise to over 1,000 by the end of the year.
Commenting on the partnership, Severina Pascu, CEO of UPC Romania, said: “We are one step closer to our vision, that of the digital world open to all. The partnership announced today enables us to bring premium online entertainment into clients’ homes through the internet service Fiber Power. Services are tailored for the whole family and for every room in the house. The result is an unforgettable experience that makes the foray into the digital world amazing.”
Broadband TV News believes similar agreements between Liberty Global and CME may follow in other CME markets they both have a presence in.
