The James Bond franchise, once a staple of rainy bank holidays on ITV, is to be given its own channel by Sky Movies.
Sky Movies 007 will launch on October 5 and continue for the rest of the month. It has been timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the release of the first Bond film Dr No and the new release Skyfall, directed by Sam Mendes.
All 22 Bond films released by EON Productions will be screened through to Quantum of Solace. In addition the two non-EON titles, the 1967 Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again will also be screened.
Ian Lewis, director of Sky Movies, described the Bond movies as “a very special franchise”.
Skyfall is expected on Sky Box Office and Sky Store next spring.
