The Israeli DTH platform yes ended the second quarter with 582,000 subscribers, or only 1,000 (0.2%) more than in the same period last year and 3,000 fewer than three months earlier.
Revenues in Q2 amounted to NIS409 million (€84 million), compared to NIS404 million (+1.2%) a year earlier, with the increase largely down to higher sales of advanced services such as VOD and yesMaxTotal.
Operating profit was NIS74 million (NIS65 million) and EBITDA NIS128 million (NIS136 million), with net loss at NIS107 million (NIS88 million).
Commenting on the results, Ron Eilon, CEO of yes, said they reflected the regulatory imbalance in Israel’s multichannel TV market and that he hoped it would be corrected “buy means of fair and equitable legislation applicable to all the players, both existing and new”.
Yes is operated by the Israeli national telco Bezeq.
