UPC Cablecom added another 54,600 subscriptions in the second quarter across TV, internet and telephony.
Switzerland’s largest cable network added 33,800 new digital TV subscribers, growing revenues by CHF9.9 million (€8.2 million) to CHF295.1 million.
Subscriber levels have been encouraged by the launch of more than 35 channels since the start of the year, including 26 in the HD format.
“We are growing continuously in all areas – and all in an extremely competitive market,” said Eric Tveter, CEO, UPC Cablecom. “We are also increasing our coverage, whilst our customer satisfaction levels have reached a record high this year. I am convinced that we will continue to inspire our existing subscribers and acquire new ones in the future thanks to our range of very attractive products with ever improving service performance.”
The total number of TV subscribers in the first half of 2012 increased by 90,500 to 661,800. The total number of TV subscribers also increased slightly to 1,501,800 – an increase of 1,400 in the second quarter of 2012.
The takeover of the cable network company Télémeyrin SA from western Switzerland also had a positive effect here.
