Foxxum makes Triax devices smart

July 19, 2012 14.07 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Triax has chosen Foxxum to develop the Triax smart TV portal with attractive content and realising its integration into Triax end devices.

With Triax, the Foxxum, a supplier of portal solutions, content aggregation and TV-apps development, is expanding the European range of smart TV portal solution.

At start, there will be three smart TV devices, that will become commercially available from autumn 2012.

They comprise a HDTV satellite receiver Triax S-150 Hybrid for FTA TV channels via satellite, the cable tuner Triax C-150 Hybrid, which is equipped with a CI+ interface. And the Triax IP-100, a pure IP set-top without an additional tuner,

“For the development of our future reception solutions we are placing a very clear emphasis on the area of smart TV, and are delighted about the close cooperation with Foxxum,” said Jochen Kummerer, group product manager receivers of the Triax Group, in a statement.

“In our eyes the company’s strengths have been confirmed by its reliability and speed in realizing the Triax smart TV portal – and what is more: From the very start we were highly impressed by the target-oriented business approach, the concept of an attractive user experience as a basis for high traffic, the added values expected by viewers these days, and the shrewd differentiation strategies which set the company apart from its competitors.”

“The cooperation between Triax and Foxxum is a quintessential win-win situation. Triax extends its innovative product range in the area of digital receivers with our smart TV portal solution optimized for first-class viewing entertainment and thereby gains a further strong argument for its hybrid products. At the same time we extend the technical reach for our partners from the content area by an additional brand which is already established in Europe, thus further increasing the access rates”, added Ronny Lutzi, CEO at Foxxum.
