Russia’s Sistema has sold its 56% stake in the TV channel Moskovya to the Central Oil Company for an undisclosed fee, having acquired it only last year for $22.7 million (€18.5 million).
Kommersant reports that Moskovya broadcasts on the same channel as TV Center, which is backed by the Moscow City government, in the Russian capital and as of the first half of this year had an average audience share of 3.9% among viewers aged 18+.
Moskovya is likely to eventually become fully owned by the city and merged with TV Center into a single operation.
