BoxNation, the pay-TV sports channel backed by boxing promoter Frank Warren, has signed up 1,300 pubs and clubs.
The channel has secured the rights to the David Haye and Dereck Chisora heavyweight boxing match, one of the biggest fights in many years, which is proving to be a significant draw.
Racing UK TV has been appointed by BoxNation to manage the boxing TV channel’s new commercial subscription service.
BoxNation is now being sold for the first time to commercial outlets in the UK and Ireland, via Racing UK, whose Commercial Director Nick Mills said: “Our commercial team has been working hard in making sure the fight is available in as many pubs and clubs as possible.
“We have topped 1,300 subscriptions so far and advise that businesses subscribe before Saturday to avoid any possible delays. Remember the big weigh-in is on Thursday and is sure to prove compelling viewing given the boxers’ explosive natures.”
In addition to carriage on Sky, BoxNation is also distributed over IP to suitably-equipped Freeview boxes.
