The number of homes now receiving the national Interactive TV product from the Russian telco Rostelecom stands at 1 million, or 40% more than at the start of this year.
According to Pavel Zaitsev, the company’s VP and commercial director, the decision to greatly expand the functionality of its cable TV offer has resulted in the increase in subscriber numbers in the last few months.
He added that, “we are confident that our product has a great future and by the end of this year plan to exceed 1.5 million connected households”. Interactive TV offers up to 180 channels, 17 of which are in HD, in most parts of Russia.
It also includes such additional features such as VOD, along with access to the entertainment media portal Zabava.ru.
