Miramax has entered into a multi-year subscription video on demand (SVOD) partnership with the Russian multimedia services company Stream, formerly known as Omlet.ru.
Under the terms of the deal, which is the first of its kind involving Miramax in the country, a broad array of Miramax and other movies will be made available to Stream VOD customers in HD either directly through the Stream site or via downloads to internet-connected devices such as tablets, smartphones, games consoles, Blu-ray players and connected TVs.
Stream was launched by MTS in 2009 and has been jointly operated with Sistema since this year.
Claiming 1.5 million unique visitors monthly, its portfolio includes about 7,000 movies and TV series episodes.
Miramax meanwhile has a library of over 700 motion pictures.
