The Euroasian Economic Community (EAEC) has unveiled plans to launch a TV channel based on Euronews.
Quoting Sergei Naryshin, the chairman of the State Duma, Interfax and Lenta report that the service, which will be analogue rather than digital, will cover issues involving the member states of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
However, they do not provide any details about investment.
The EAEC was formed in 2000 and also at one time included Uzbekistan. Euronews has a Russian language version and includes Russia’s VGTRK among its owners.
