DTG Testing and Mirifice have jointly developed an automation system for the testing of set-top boxes and IDTVs.
The development of Mirifice’s MiriATE product follows an extension of an existing agreement between the DTG test house subsidiary and the test and monitoring company.
DTG Testing has also released an MHEG automated test suite for manufacturers to purchase for pre-compliance testing, prior to submission to DTG Testing for final testing.
“DTG Testing is committed to continually enhancing the service we offer to manufacturers.” said Richard Carlton, Associate Director, DTG
Testing. “The introduction of MHEG automation will reduce the time taken to test products and provide a more controlled testing environment, ensuring even greater consistency of test results.”
“Customers of DTG Testing can use a MiriATE system allied with DTG Testing’s pre-compliance scripts to prove their own product’s capability before they submit it to DTG Testing for formal compliance testing, added Mark Longstaff, CEO of Mirifice.
The system is able to automatically interpret a receiver’s video and audio output, while controlling the device inputs and environment and is capable of testing up to 96 receivers in parallel 24 hours a day.
