HbbTV Summit Poland – WARSAW. A lot of broadcasters in Central and Eastern Europe are looking at HbbTV in the context of their EBU membership, though only those in Poland and the Czech Republic have made progress in its introduction, according to Dr Klaus Ilgner-Fehns, chairman of the HbbTV consortium and MD, IRT.
Speaking exclusively to Broadband TV News ahead of the start of today’s HbbTV Summit Poland in Warsaw, he added that the prospects for HbbTV in the region are very good.
Countries such as Poland are analysing other markets in order to see what works best for them, with much ultimately depending on their specific ecosystem.
Ilgner-Fehns also said it was very important for the public to be aware of the fact that HbbTV is an international standard, with no regional variants.
