The Vision TV Network has announced the launch of a Hellenic TV package of 13 channels accessible through connected Freeview receivers.
The announcement comes several months after the actual start of the service and probably marks the launch of a new marketing and PR campaign around Helennic TV to take advantage of today’s UK launch of YouView.
To access the service viewers require either the latest Freeview HD enabled television set or a set top box which supports Vision247’s online video platform. Connecting the box or television to the internet through a broadband router or home hub device enables Vision TV Network to stream the channels to the TV set.
Hellenic TV comes in two tiers. The basic offer is free of charge and consosts of HTV WNN, RIKSat and ERT World.
The premium channels are gHTV Teleasty, HTV Vouli, HTV E4, HTV RIKSat, Hellenic TV1, Hellenic TV2, HTV WNN, HTV Music, HTV NRG, Hellenic TV Plus, HTV MEGA and HTV SIGMA. Subscriptions cost £11 per month.
John Mills, CEO of Vision247, said in a statement: “For the first time we can provide live broadcast over the internet and onto FreeviewHD televisions for the Greek community in the UK. Bringing original broadcasting from Greece into the home is a great way to bring families together and maintain their cultural ties, no matter where they now live.”
