Aupeo! and Inview personalise radio on smart TVs

June 11, 2012 10.21 Europe/London By Robert Briel

ANGA Cable 2012 – Cologne. Inview, the company bringing Smart TV experiences to any TV or Set-Top Box, and Aupeo! Personal Radio, a provider of personalised audio streams for internet-connected devices, are turning Smart TVs into next generation radios. Following a global content deal, the free online music service Aupeo! will feature as standard on all connected TVs and STBs that incorporate Inview’s technology.

Inview’s connected TV platform turns any regular TV or STB into an advanced connected device giving consumers access to internet and broadcast content in one simple user interface, as well as a range of internet TV apps.

The partnership will enable users of Inview powered devices to access Aupeo! Personal Radio’s complete portfolio of more than 1 million tracks. The idea of personal radio is simple: Listeners can lean back and enjoy a music programme tailored to their individual taste. They get started by choosing artist, genre or one of 150+ editorial stations and influence the programming with Love and Ban or even skip a song. Listeners will enjoy great music and be able to discover new songs and artists all the time.

“We are really pleased to be partnering with Inview to bring Personal Radio to the TV,” said Holger G. Weiss, CEO at Aupeo! “By launching on the Inview service we can deliver our audio content to a large audience. The Inview platform perfectly supports our advanced software and easily delivers a global reach.”

“The market for connected TV is rapidly growing and our technology is enabling more devices to be connected in a simple and cost-effective way. Our smart TV platform provides the infrastructure for Aupeo Personal Radio! to become the key audio streaming app on Smart TVs. We will be rolling out innovative services like AUPEO! Personal Radio, as standard on the Inview platform across the globe.” said Mark Rooney, director of media, Inview Technology Ltd.

Aupeo! Personal Radio will initially launch on all TVs with Inview’s technology in the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, France, Germany and Australia.
