New hybrid STB from TechnoTrend Görler

June 8, 2012 07.08 Europe/London By Robert Briel

ANGA Cable 2012 – Cologne. Beenius, a provider of interactive TV middleware, and TechnoTrend Görler are presenting the new TechnoTrend TT-micro IPC8391 IPTV/Hybrid STB at ANGA Cable 2012.

They joined forces to develop a product that combines classical DVB-C/S/T broadcasting and next-generation IPTV/OTT services to meet rising market demand for hybrid receivers. The solution will be demonstrated at TechnoTrend Görler’s booth, 10.2/D39, at ANGA Cable.

The new TT-micro IPC8391 IPTV/Hybrid STB brings together classical DVB-C/S/T broadcasting and Beesmart, an open, flexible, feature-rich interactive TV service platform. The result of collaboration by the two companies is a product that features HLS (HTTP Live Streaming), a fast and user-friendly graphical user interface, Open API, targeted advertising for operators and an IPTV/OTT capability to support managed and unmanaged networks.

“TechnoTrend Görler’s new TT-micro IPC8391 IPTV/Hybrid STB supported by Beesmart middleware, will most definitely satisfy the increasing market demand for hybrid receivers,” said Beenius CEO Matjaž Bevk, adding that “we are very pleased with the potential of TechnoTrend Görler’s devices and the well-coordinated collaboration with our valued partner.”

“Beenius’s experience and IPTV expertise and its powerful and flexible middleware solution are a key asset for our growth in the IPTV market,” TechnoTrend Görler general manager Ralf Exler said. “The combination of our powerful IPTV/OTT set top boxes and Beesmart middleware is a most compelling solution that enables cable, satellite and terrestrial operators to expand their business with IPTV/OTT services,” he added.
