Following a court decision, German operators of SMATVs have to conclude a licence agreement with VG Media and pay copyright licence fees for the retransmission of private radio and television stations over their networks.
Before the district court of Leipzig, VG Media and a Saxon community antenna recently reached a comprehensive settlement in which the antenna community undertakes, among other things, a payment of licence fees of approximately €6160 to VG media.
For the future, a licence agreement was agreed on the basis of the rates set by VG media.
VG Media is a company owned by several private radio and TV broadcasters with the aim to collect licence and copyright fees for retransmission and pubic viewing of their signals.
