Telenor Satellite Broadcasting will provide UPC DTH with additional capacity for new HD channels at its One West orbital slot.
As previously reported in Broadband TV News UPC DTH, which operates under the UPC Direct (Hungary), freeSAT (Czech Republic and Slovakia) and Focussat (Romania) brands, plans to add Eurosport HD and Eurosport 2 HD to its HD channel packages ahead of the upcoming Euro 2012 football championship.
Cato Halsaa, vice president and CEO of Telenor Satellite Broadcasting, commented: “This agreement represents further growth in our long-standing relationship with UPC DTH and we are committed to supporting its future DTH expansion plans within Central and Eastern Europe.”
Between them the various UPC DTH operations have 645,000 customers.
