The Hungarian pay-DTT service MinDig TV Extra already has over 63,000 subscribers and aims to double the total by March 2013.
Furthermore, its sister service MinDig TV plans to extend its FTA HD broadcasts with a 3D transmission of the summer’s major sporting events, in cooperation with MTVNA, in and around Budapest.
The national transmission company Antenna Hungária, which operates both services, will embark on a significant expansion of its network over the next few months, focusing on the country’s biggest cities.
Following its completion, there will be 65 operating DVB-T sites, with the MinDig TV service covering more than 98% of the population.
The MinDig TV Extra Family package’s coverage will grow to around 87%, with the digital signal transmitted from 53 sites.
