Motorola showcases DreamGallery

May 22, 2012 10.06 Europe/London By Robert Briel

At the Cable Show in Boston Motorola Mobility is showcasing DreamGallery that will be launching in North American homes later this year.

DreamGallery by Motorola Medios is a new on-screen display that’s as personalised, dynamic and rich as the internet with the help of graphics, visual search tools and friendly menus to help viewrs find what they want.

“DreamGallery lets you fly through hundreds of channels in seconds. No more searching, and searching … and searching. You can store all of your favorite content in one place for easy access. Simply select and bookmark your favorite content—just like you do on the web. “

Consumers spoke. We listened. DreamGallery is to TV what search was to the Web,” said John Burke, SVP and general manager, Converged Experiences at Motorola Mobility. “Consumers want to be able to find personalized and relevant content, fast. We set out to address this hunger by leveraging our expertise in media software and our leadership in content delivery. We ended up reinventing the entire interface for television. DreamGallery isn’t just a better search and discovery experience. It’s a better way to watch TV.”

DreamGallery is a cloud and HTML5-based solution for service providers. With DreamGallery, service providers can offer an on-screen interface customised to each subscriber that can be updated on-the-fly to include new services, features and applications.

DreamGallery also will allow service providers to deliver the first consistent TV Everywhere experience across multiple screens, such as smartphones, tablets, PCs and connected TVs. The platform has already garnered critical acclaim from service providers across Europe.
