The arrival of Free as a mobile operator has sparked a price war for quad play products.
According to French press reports, the move by Free Mobile has resulted in hundred of thousands of customers deserting their current providers.
Orange has lost 615,000 customers, SFR said goodbye to 620,000 people and Bouygues Telecom lost 379,000.
Cable operator is the first to counteract on the arrival of Free Mobile and is offering a quad play product for €44.90 a month. The offer includes the new STB (la Box by NC), a few dozen TV channels, 200 Mbps broadband access, unlimited fixed line telephony and mobile with 60 minutes of calls and 60 text messages.
The cabler has also launched a new entry-level package at €24.90 with a basic TV bouquet of 19 channels, 30 Mbps broadband and unlimited fixed line telephony – introducing a new low price point for triple play, which until now was hovering around €30 a month.
