Germans watch more online video

46.9 million German internet users viewed a video online in March 2012, according to comScore. The number of people viewing videos online has grown by 2.3% over the past year and time spent per viewer has increased by 33.7%.

Google sites, inclouding YouTube, continue to be the most watched online video sites with 99.7% of the 35.4 million Google sites visitors watching YouTube.

With 14.0 millionen visitors the ProSiebenSat1 sites, which inlcude MyVideo and Maxdome are runners up.

United-Internet is the third ;afrgest video site in the country with 9.9 ,million unique viewers.

New in the Top 10 most watched sites are FutureTV (7.25 million) and SnackTV Video Network (5.44 million) at positions 6 and 7, behind Facebook (9.28 million) und RTL Group Sites (9.17 million).

Vevo is at position eight, thanks to its cooperation with Universal Music with a total of 4.6 million users.

The Top 10 ranks are closed by Dailymotion (4.5 million) and Microsoft sites (4.29 million).

The three best watched YouTube partner channels in the country are Bigpoint @ YouTube (5.62 million), Machinima @ YouTube (4.18 million) and MediakraftNetworks @ YouTube (3.20 million).

Mobile video usage is also on the rise in Germany showing an increase of 70% during the first three months of 2012.
