The Russian telco TransTeleKom (TTK) will enter the country’s cable market this month.
Quoted by AKTR and Ria Novosti, its VP Svetlana Shamzon said that it will launch its first services in Syktyvkar, Rybinsk and Barnaul this month and they should be available in a total of 25 cities by the end of the year.
They will in due course include digital TV and ITV service.
TTK lists RZD as its majority (99.99%) shareholder and has one of Russia’s largest fibre-optic networks, stretching over 75,000km and with a capacity of 560 Gbps and reaching 1.7 million households.
