Slovak Telekom has posted a year-on-year increase of 18.9% in its TV subscriber total, the Magio-branded services it operates ending the first quarter with a total of 162,000 customers.
In a statement, the company said that its portfolio in the quarter was extended by several channels and that the on demand service benefited from deals with two major studios – Universal and Walt Disney – giving viewers access to new films as approximately the time of Slovak distribution release on DVD and Blu-ray.
According to Slovak Telekom, “the development also confirms the onset of digital content distribution.”
The company’s revenues in the first quarter amounted to €206.2 million, or 3.5% less than a year earlier.
EBITDA was €86.1 million (-8.8%) and net income €25 million (-7.8%).
