The Czech incumbent telco Telefónica O2 ended the first quarter with 138,100 subscribers to its IPTV service O2 TV, or 7% more than a year earlier.
This was largely down to a successful Christmas campaign, when it gained around 5,000 new subscribers, though growth has generally been stagnant in the last three to four years and the number of customers grew by only 2,000 in the first quarter.
Also in the fixed line sector, Telefónica O2 had 883,000 xDSL accesses at the end of the first quarter, or 6.6% more than a year earlier.
Some 161,700, or 21% of the total, subscribed to its upgraded VDSL service.
