Italian broadcaster Mediaset has launched an iPad app for its Mediaset Premium pay-TV subscribers.
Customers can download the app free and access a range of programming on-demand on the iPad. The Premium Play VoD service is already available from PCs, the set-top box and gaming consoles; this is its first mobile offering.
The new iPad app is the broadcaster’s answer to Sky Go. There is, however, a major difference as Mediaset only offers a selection of its premium content on the tablet rather than Sky Go’s complete offer.
Viewers need an internet connection to access the new service, which boasts 2,000 on-demand titles of which 500 are movies and TV series. The app and its usage is free to existing Premium subscribers.
