EchoStar is releasing what it anticipates is the world’s slimmest digital video recorder.
The Ultra Slim Box (HDT-610R) has been designed for the UK’s DTT platform Freeview and boasts an aluminium chassis measuring just 14mm. It is available on pre-order from Amazon, John Lewis and Maplin from 4 May.

The box has a 500 GB hard disk, equivalent to 300 hours of recording space, HTMI connection and access to in demand services BBC iPlayer and BoxOffice365.
