The German movie channel Kinowelt is to launch its HD simulcast on May 29 with Liberty Global’s Unitymedia being the first distribution partner.
ARD’s thematic channel Eins Extra will be renamed Tagesschau24 on May 1. The name change was first announced in March 2012.
The French media authority CSA has refused to reconsider the application by M6 to turn its premium DTT channel Paris Premiere into a free-to-air channel. If further appeals are unsuccessful, M6 is likely to pull the channel from terrestrial distribution.
Dutch DTH platform Canal Digitaal is adding Eurosport 2 HD to its line-up. The operator is also replacing adult entertainment channel Daring!TV with Private Spice. The change of porn channels is also applicable for TV Vlaanderen.
