Russia’s VimpelCom has commercially launched its IPTV service Beeline TV in the southern city of Sochi, which will host the Winter Olympics in 2014.
According to the company, viewers in the city will be offered a basic package consisting of the 100 most popular Russian and foreign channels, along with the Max package, which consists of 172 channels, eight of which are in HD, and an on demand service.
Beeline TV made its debut in Moscow and St Petersburg and is now available in 36 cities throughout Russia.
It is currently received in over 650,000 homes.
