Fox International Channels (FIC) has re-branded the recently acquired Suomi TV as Fox and extended daily broadcasts to 12 hours.
Fox Finland is to feature exclusive entertainment series and feature films, cherry-picked National Geographic Channel content and lifestyle programming produced by the FIC’s food network, 24Kitchen.
The new channel will feature films and series acquired from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution and the FIC co-produced series The Walking Dead, among others.
Fox Finland follows on the heels of the launch of Fox Crime in Norway last year and the ongoing consolidation of the Nordic distribution of FIC’s factual channels: the National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Channel HD, Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Wild HD.
Fox will continue to broadcast news and horse racing and plans to produce local content in the near future.Fox Finland is a must-carry free-to-air network – received through terrestrial and cable networks, it reaches 99,9 % of the Finnish population. Programming includes a variety of series and movies, documentaries, lifestyle, news and horse racing.
