Chello Central Europe has secured the rights to the Spanish La Liga for the next three seasons. Matches from the league will be shown on the channels Sport1 and Sport2 in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Chello Central Europe has offered continuous coverage of La Liga in Hungary since October 2000 and the Czech Republic and Slovakia since October 2006.
Canal+ Cyfrowy has appointed Tomasz Jaros as its new PR director. Jaros has worked in the media industry for the last 10 years and was most recently at the PR agency Grayling, where he co-operated with such companies as Google, YouTube, LG Electronics and Oracle.
CME has produced one of the most successful movies in Czech history, attracting more people to the local box office in its opening weekend than Avatar. Made jointly by CME’s content division MediaPro Pictures and TV Nova, The Last match of Pepik Hnatek is a dark comedy about football and a spin-off of a cult TV Nova hit series that began in 2010. It has received 40% of its funding through product placement, sponsorship and rebates.
