Concerns have been raised in the Balkan region that OTE may sell one of its businesses in Albania, Bulgaria and Romania to fund its debt servicing.
Quoting the Greek newspaper Naftemporiki, several local reports say that the Greek telco will announce its plans by the end of June.
OTE’s interests in the Balkans include the telco Romtelecom, a leading player in Romania’s pay-TV sector, and the mobile operators Globul and Cosmote in Bulgaria and Romania respectively.
OTE has debts of between €500-700 million and disposed of its stake in Telekom Srbija earlier this year.
It is shortly also expected to sell Hellas Sat.
