Monterosa, the second screen developer behind the social TV elements of Channel 4’s Million Pound Drop, has entered a strategic partnership with Zeebox.
A new self-service Monterosa product allows companies to simultaneously reach TV audiences through Zeebox, mobile apps or their own websites.
The first invitation-only release of the product will be integrated into Zeebox’s ‘Showtime’ tools, adding live audience polling to a rapidly growing suite of interactions that broadcasters, programme-makers and brands can use to augment live TV.
Tom McDonnell, commercial director of Monterosa, said: “Zeebox and Monterosa are both pioneering forces in social and second-screen television. The combination of Monterosa’s expertise in highly content-specific interaction and Zeebox’s capabilities and audience is a potent one.”
Monterosa recently won the 2012 Broadcasting Press Guild Innovation Award for its work on Channel 4 and Endemol’s Million Pound Drop.
Separately, IMImobile, which provides technology infrastructure for mobile data, interactive broadcast, voice and video services to mobile operators, enterprises and media companies today is integrating its Multi-Media Console (MMC) within the Zeebox Showtime tools.
IMImobile’s platform provides broadcasters with a seamless way to aggregate audience content across a range of digital streams, including Twitter, Facebook, SMS, MMS, email and apps.
