Fashion TV returns FTA on Astra

MIPTV 2012 – CANNES. Fashion TV will launch a free-to-air channel aimed at the European market at the Astra position of 19 degrees East.

Although distribution is Europe-wide, a number of programmes will be broadcast aimed at the Spanish market. To this end, Fashion TV signed a contract with Spainmedia, publisher of a number of fashion and lifestyle magazines in Spain, including Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Robb Report and Orizon magazines.

“FashionTV is a well-known and popular channel, that we would like to welcome aboard our satellite fleet,” said Bill Wijdeveld, managing director Astra Benelux, who negotiated ther deal. “We warmly congratulate FashionTV with its 15th anniversary and look forward to a good cooperation in the coming years.”

Michel Adam, president and founder of FashionTV said: “We are very pleased with the agreement with SES and Spainmedia. SES is renowned for its high-quality distribution and unparalleled domestic reach. We hope to expand our cooperation in the near future. ”

Andrés Rodríguez, president of Spainmedia TV adds: “I am proud of the start of Spainmedia TV in cooperation with FashionTV and SES. I am convinced that this will give a major boost to our portfolio of magazines and events. ”
