The Global BBC iPlayer has secured the rights to its first ever sporting event – The Boat Race. Subscribers will be able to view the annual race on the River Thames between the crews of Oxford and Cambridge Universities, which this year had to be restarted after a protestor swam between the two boats.
FX UK will become the fourth linear channel to be streamed by BT Vision following an earlier deal with UKTV for Watch, Gold and Alibi.
PlayJam has partnered with Miniclip, the largest online games website, to bring content to connected TV. Miniclip’s paid-for titles will distributed via all major manufacturers Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sony, Western Digital and Vestel.
Music channel Trace Africa is now available as part of Le Bouquet Africain Max on the French IPTV service TV d’Orange. The channel is also available on the SFR Neufbox.
