Discovery Networks EMEA has signed a multiple channel mobile TV agreement with Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS).
As a result, the latter is now offering its subscribers the flagship channels Discovery Channel, TLC and Animal Planet.
The deal is the first of its kind involving Discovery outside the US and further strengthens its presence in Russia, where Discovery is the most popular non-terrestrial channel among male viewers aged 20-49.
Animal Planet is meanwhile number five in the 18+ age group and TLC in the top 15 channels among those aged 20-49 only a year after its launch, according to data produced by TNS Gallup Media TV Index.
