Curzon Cinemas is extending its Curzon On Demand service to Samsung Smart TVs. The London-based art-house cinema chain has adopted Capablue’s recently launched Connected Plus solution.
The full service VOD platform will also feature “In Cinemas, On Curzon” the cinema chain’s innovative day & date strategy to make specially selected films available to view simultaneously in the cinema, or in the home.
“Our vision was to give our customers the freedom to watch movies and new trailers in the comfort of their own home simultaneously to cinema release. In order to achieve this we are using Capablue’s Connected Plus to power and manage the platform,” said Philip Knatchbull CEO, Curzon.
Capablue’s Connected Plus is a full service VOD platform for film and TV owners to distribute content across multiple devices. It is based on Capablue’s signature Connected Platform, a cloud-based platform that enables the discovery and monetisation of content.
“With the number of Connected TV’s entering the market really taking off this year, now seems like the perfect time for Curzon to make its services available across multiple devices, including Smart TV,” said Tom Cape, CEO Capablue. “For the first time content owners are able to connect directly with consumers and offer them the opportunity to have a cinema release experience in the comfort of their own home. This is especially true for Curzon to extend its reach outside of London.”
Capablue has worked closely with Curzon to develop a user-centric service by customising the look and feel of the Connected Plus interface to reflect the Curzon brand
Connected Plus integrates with Curzon’s current web account management and membership system enabling members to pay on one device whilst they watch on another. Payment has been integrated with Curzon’s own payment mechanism.
