Pay-TV’s answer to Wikileaks – the emails purporting to show evidence of the promotion of pay-TV piracy by NDS – have been removed from their server.
Several thousand emails were taken down by their host DocumentCloud after lawyers acting for the News Corp subsidiary said they contained “confidential and trade secret information”.
In an article the Australian Financial Review, which last week used the documents in an article critical of NDS, said its publishers Fairfax Media had declined to give the indemnity requested by DocumentCloud.
Last Thursday NDS executive chairman Abe Peled wrote to Michael Stutchbury, editor-in-chief of the Australian Financial Review telling him that the emails had been repeatedly used to misrepresent the company in its fight against piracy.
