MIPTV 2012 – CANNES. A+E Networks has appointed Christopher Barry as managing director, international strategy and digital media. He will report to Sean Cohan, SVP, international.
Based in the company’s New York headquarters, Barry will develop and execute the division’s strategic initiatives in partnership with executives around the world and cultivate new growth opportunities, including investments and partnerships.
In addition, he will oversee international digital operations, including the execution of B2B and B2C websites. He will also be responsible for driving international digital distribution, negotiating deals with A+E Networks’ broadband, mobile, and VoD partners, and developing strategies for rights protection and exploitation.
Barry joins A+E Networks from Sundance Channel where he was SVP, digital media and business strategy, overseeing the channel’s digital media operations, content distribution and business development activities since 2003.
