Dutch cable operator Ziggo has added two more channels which it streams to iPad, iPhone and iPod. Eurosport and National Geographic Channel bring the total to 12 streaming channels.
Ziggo launched its TV app a year ago, in March 2011. The app offers a complete EPG as well as live streams of various channels. In order to make use of the TV app, viewers must buy TV and broadband access from Ziggo. Access is possible only in and around the house of the customer. The app itself and its use is free of charge.
Ziggo stremas the channels with a bit rate of between 800Kbps to 1.2 Mbps.
The complete list of streamed channels now consists of Nederland 1, Nederland 2, Nederland 3, RTL4, RTL5, RTL7, RTL8, Net 5, SBS6, Veronica, Eurosport and National Geographic Channel. The EPG lists details of over 160 channels as well as the Ziggo On Demand library.
