The Polish public broadcaster TVP has officially applied to the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for licences to operate two more thematic channels.
The licences in question are for TVP Dokument, which will focus on documentaries, and entertainment-based TVP Rozrywka.
TVP would will to launch at least one of the channels this year.
Although both would initially be distributed by satellite, it is likely they will in due course be distributed by DTT.
TVP already operates the thematic channels TVP Kultura, TVP Sport, TVP Historia, TVP Seriale, TVP Parlament and TVP HD.
