IPTV World Forum – London. Agama Technologies has announced the Finnish IPTV operator Maxisat has selected one of its quality assurance solutions for automated QoE and QoS monitoring and testing of over-the-top video services.
Supporting linear, VOD and event delivery models, the deployment will help Maxisat assuring the quality of its nationwide HLS based OTT service to connected TVs.
“The decision to invest in a quality monitoring solution from Agama was easy,” says J-P Hela-Aro, development manager, Maxisat. “As a provider of high-quality TV services, it is of strategic importance to provide the best transparency for our organization and enable them to act quickly in case of a detected problem. For our pioneering nationwide OTT service to connected Samsung TV sets, we found a perfect match in Agama’s solution and know-how. It will support us in ensuring the service is available 24/7 with reliable quality to all our customers.”
Maxisat will run the Agama analysis engine to perform QoE and QoS monitoring of OTT services, and it supports multiple adaptive bitrate formats, including both Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and Microsoft Silverlight Smooth Streaming.
Maxisat is a IPTV and broadband access provider in Finland. The Maxivision HD set-top box claims to triple the number of channels in Finnish households with antenna reception and it offers “a network hard disc with easier programme recording than ever before.”
