A+E Networks has announced the promotion of Ellen Lovejoy to VP, International Content Sales.
Based in New York, Lovejoy oversees off-network sales of A+E Networks content to Canada, Australia and New Zealand. She is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies for the A+E Networks programming catalogue, including existing and new content. Lovejoy will also act as the lead on IT, global format sales, and operational initiatives to drive continued sales growth. Lovejoy will report to the to-be-named managing director, International Content Sales.
“Ellen joined A+E Networks in early 2011, and was immediately an impact player. She exceeded her revenue targets for the year, and has formed important partnerships with producers and broadcasters across her territories. I am pleased to announce her promotion,” said Cohan.
Lovejoy was previously sr. director, international content sales for A+E Networks. She joined the company from Target Entertainment Ltd, where she served as SVP Sales & Programming, overseeing licensing to the US, Canada and Latin America, and program acquisition activity from the Americas for international distribution. During her tenure, she was responsible for 300% growth in these territories. Lovejoy produced the documentary, Angels of Milot: Haiti’s Aftershock (PBS), and has negotiated co-productions with HBO and WGBH.
Prior to that she was VP sales and programming, USA, Canada and Latin America with Beyond Distribution. Lovejoy also served as sales manager for UK-based Mayfair Entertainment, and as sales manager for the Prague-based news service, Internet Securities. Lovejoy also held positions with USAID in Prague and worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC as a legislative aide.
