Turkcell has emerged as the most likely buyer of the Bulgarian incumbent telco BTC, which operates under the brand name Vivacom and includes a DTH platform among its interests.
Trud reports that the Turkish company has put in a bid of over €900 million for a 94% stake in Vivacom, putting it ahead of one from the company’s former Icelandic owner Thor Bjorgolfsson and the Greek entrepreneur Panos Germanos of €870 million and a joint Russian/Bulgarian bank offer of €850 million.
Morgan Stanley are acting as consultants in the sale and a deal is likely to be concluded shortly.
